06/29/08 - This weekend members of LSFD and Lake City FC particpated in Water Rescue 2. Classroom training was held at LSFD. On Sunday, crews went to Presque Isle Bay for the practical.

06/27/08 - Today, Tanker 56 is decommissioned and was sold to Bernice FD from Bernice, Oklahoma.
Swim In the Bay

06/28/08 - Today several people participated in a Swim In the Bay. They swam from Presque Isle to the Erie Yacht Club. LSFD Boat 59 was standing by in the Bay with a crew of 4, including a MPS Paramedic, in the event that someone needed medical attention during the swim.

06/25/08 - Tonight along with Fairview FD, firefighters trained, refreshed and familiarized with new equipment and tools that the departments have had.
Smoke in an Apartment Building

06/24/08 - LSFD Engine 55 responded with a crew of 5 to assist West Ridge on a report of smoke in the building at the Paul J. Martin Apartments late tonight. Residents had to be evacuated and couldn't go back to their apartments for over 2 hours while Penelec repaired an electrical problem.
Structure Fire at a Warehouse

05/30/08 - LSFD assisted FFD on an alarm at the John V. Schultz Warehouse. Engine 55 crew investigated the first floor. Finding nothing there, they were ordered to the second floor to assist Engine 532 crew. Crews located a light ballast as the cause of the alarm.
Boater in the Water

06/18/08 - Around 230pm LSFD, USCG, LCFC, WCPA, and ECI were sent to the Walnut Creek Access for a boater in the water. With the assistance of the PA Fish Commission the boater was safely rescued and brought to land.
